 "My home birth experience with the Foothills Midwifery team can only be summed up as being a holistically warm and caring experience for both my husband and I.  This being my third pregnancy, I was very fortunate to have had the opportunity to meet these two amazing ladies.  In comparison to my two previous births in the hospital, we experienced a home birth for the first time, in the knowledgeable and competent hands of both Marie and Kathleen.  I found each prenatal visit to be warm and personable as these two ladies took time to get to know and care for their clients, as well as their clients’ needs and wants.  Never was there any hesitation to contact them should I have any questions or concerns.  Both my husband and I found that the entire birthing experience at home had a wonderful ambiance of warm relaxation where nature naturally took its course.  There was no feeling of a cold clinical setting where everyone hustled and bustled about, making you feel tense.  My husband really enjoyed the opportunity of partaking in the birthing process, this time...rather than feeling as though he was in the way.  Helping his daughter enter the world was an experience he will cherish forever.  The ladies spoke quietly and soothingly and most of all were encouraging when I thought I could go no further.  Their warm, kind and gentle approach to the entire process made this a journey we'll never forget and one we would definitely repeat!  For your kind loving souls....we thank you!"

They were both caring and professional and were a wealth of information with regards to pre-natal care, labor, and delivery. We visited Marie for prenatal care. She answered all my questions and offered practical advice.

Kathleen was present for the birth and was a great support to my husband and I. One of my special memories was Kathleen’s calming influence upon our arrival at the birthing room. Her gentle spirit was welcoming. I collapsed into her arms and broke down into tears. Her reassurance endowed me with hope that everything was going to be okay. She instilled within me confidence and strength when I believed that there was nothing left to give. I was now ready to give birth with her at my side -in this case at the foot of the bed."
